I’m drowning in assholes. – Igby Goes Down

People adore fucked up rules. They think they are excellent. (The rules, that is, although the people think that they, themselves, are pretty damn great, too, though such a claim is, ninety nine percent of the time, a complete and utter untruth.) I have never met the acquaintance of a person that I could truly stand to be around for extended periods of time. The reason for this is that all people are fucking retarded. And they should all go swallow some raw napalm or something. I think that people who enforce rules are just insecure, or they had really boring childhoods and they are bitter or something. I, for one, am never going to have a child, because the only reason that people have children is because they are unsatisfied with their lives or they are not creative enough to think of anything innovative or interesting to do with their lives. And then they are so self-centered and arrogant and dumbassed that they think they are better than all of the other parents. I think that kids start doing things that their parents deem socially unacceptable when they are told that they cannot do something that is clearly less severe. Take, for example, a recent case of a child who wanted to drive semi-illegally (not even completely illegally, and not really illegally at all, just unadvisable, and nothing would have happened had she done it for she would not be pulled over by any law enforcement officers) for a maximum of seven minutes; at the end of these seven minutes, she would gain access to a piece of paper that would reverse the illegality of the action (which, if you think about it, is pretty fucked up in and of itself – the fact that a goddamn piece of paper changes the premise or value of something). However, she was denied these privileges because one of the people who owns her had a very obedient youth and didn’t want her daughter to do something slightly on the edge because it would devalue her own adolescence did not think that it would be a very good idea because it was “against the law.” So this minor, minor misdemeanor (not that it even is a misdemeanor; it’s less, if there is a less) was not committed. Unfortunately, this prohibition is not a step towards any sort of taming or sedation. Rather, the fact that this child in question was banned from going through with her “naughty” plan is indubitably going to seduce this child; she will be compelled and inclined to do things that are even more socially unacceptable and “not the things that MY kids do” because she thinks that the license fiasco of July 2, 2003, will pale in comparison, and the person who denied her the original right will feel, and rightly so, like a fucking asshole.
