Be an uncle, not a father.

Don’t fragment yourself into tiny pieces when you don’t have to. Being shower sparks and shards of glass ain’t gonna help no one.

(Far be it from me to psychoanalyze) but it sounds like you’ve got an identity problems. The core of a human isn’t a soft squishy center that takes blows well enough, but always regains it’s shape. It’s hard and crystalline and a self-repeating pattern. Think ice forming on a window pane. Crap that we’ve done, or have done to us, sticks, and stays, and becomes part of the pattern. Slamming your fist against it will only break it into a handful of smaller versions of the whole, and they all spread and propagate and then you’ve got the same problem, only 10 or 100 times over.

Smudging it with your finger is only gonna add an exponetial growth to it.

Do your nephew, your sister, parents strangers us, a favor. Don’t let it grow out of control, then smash it and hope for different results. BE THE GROWTH. (How corny is that, but how true, eh?) In the age-old philisophical debate of To Be Is To Do / To Do Is To Be, take the To Do Is To Be* for a spin for a while, see how it works out. Remember, any growth that happens then is entirely your own, good or ill.

Unless this is all fiction, then it’s small and pathetic but in the great sense of the word. Everyone has failings, not everyone’s got the balls to show everyone.

* Christ Almighty, I’ve said ’em too many times in my head. They both ran together. Long story short: grow yourself.
