Tuesday 1/11/00:
Woke up extremely tired. Didn’t work out – had to drag myself out bed. Didn’t get much sleep. Couldn’t stop thinking about all the worst possible scenarios. Don’t want the kids growing up without their mommy. God, Alia’s only two years old!
Must get positive and stay positive for Heidi. Took a shower and changed my attitude before I left for work.
Heidi called at work. She talked to Cynthia – they had a very productive, upbuilding discussion. She’s going to do the BK real strict for 3 weeks and get retested to see if it’s working. If it’s not, then we go the traditional route. Her tumor right now is a size 14. Cynthia thinks she can beat it.
We had dinner with everyone at mom’s house. It’s a very comforting feeling to know you have family support and prayers. We needed it. Day ends on a good, yet guarded, note.
PS: I plan on making one-word signs of encouragement to tape on the inside of the kitchen cabinet doors. Will get the kids to help. They know about the tumor and it’s seriousness, but I think they are still too young to understand the gravity of the situation. I envy their innocence.
