Saturday 1/15/00:

Cold and rainy this morning. Very drab. Hung out with the Rico’s a little bit. They were very encouraging. At night, everyone came over to Heidi’s mom’s house next door for dinner. We all had ham etc. Heidi ate whiting fish and a potato with olive oil salad. Heidi’s dad, George, set up old 8mm movies of Heidi, Michelle and Barbara that he had taken when they were our kids age. Heidi was the youngest of the three. She was so cute! She didn’t look like Alia, our youngest, but boy did she act just like her! Young George looked just like Andrew, his son, who is the same age, now 23. They looked like twins. Liam and all the kids kept saying it was Uncle Andrew up on the screen. They didn’t understand that it was really PuppyPop (George). Marmaduke (Heidi’s mom) made a drumload of popcorn. We finished at about 10-10:30, a little too late for the kids and us. I went to bed thinking and hoping that Liam doesn’t grow up to look like me when he’s 35. I looked good at 25 – like a young Clint Eastwood – but now my hair is going. I keep cutting it shorter and shorter every year. I hope that doesn’t happen to him so young. It’s no fun to look at.
