In Response To Gordon Lee

I know I posted this further down but I decided I’d post it here too just in case he might miss it. To those I piss off by posting it twice I apologise.

The threat of nuclear war has never been greater than it is now. Not even during the cold war did the threat ever seem so likely. Then the two super powers did a fair amount of talking, it was really the nuclear deterrent rather than the nuclear threat. Both sides understood the disastrous effects a nuclear war would have on both powers and everyone in between.

In the case of India and Pakistan the nuclear deterrent isn’t there. The distance between the neighbouring capitals is less than 460 miles. Simple logic will tell you that a strike from either one will eliminate both. The majority of Indians and Pakistanis are Muslim. Muslims are not afraid to die for what they believe in so the fear of nuclear fallout is not an issue, for either sides. A lot of the aggravation in the Kashmir district is being brought about by rebels with links to the one and only Osama Bin Laden, so their willingness to die is unquestionable.

If either side does strike first the other side has less than three minutes to respond, so the pressure is greater to ensure a first strike, making the area heat up like a pressure cooker. If a fallout did occur it wouldn’t, as Cecil so correctly pointed out, only effect those two nations. The radiation would last for years, nuclear winter would set in. Riots or massacres would certainly break out in the UK and other countries, due to high populations of both Pakistani & Indian living side by side. The global economy would suffer greatly and the entire world could plummet into recession.

Think its a good idea now Gordon.

Or maybe you live on the planet Nakyyaam and they won’t bother you there. For your sake and ours I hope they sort themselves out over there, or we all pay for it.

Peace BP.
