well, my dear, this is a pivotal time for me. Within three days I’ll either be in jail or Virginia. I’m sure hoping for Virginia. Just me and my funky little instruments and the clothes on my back. Oh, and a head full of ideas and a heart full of love. Say farewell to Texas movin east to Catharsis. Moving to dreams moving east of eden past the land of nod east to the sunrise east. My life an open book but who’s reading? Sneaking east and north like a wetback on my crippled citizenship, helps that i’m fair skinned and can pose as a republican. The hair to my elbows no longer a symbol of revolutionary terror but of sedate middle age, harmlessness. I am harmless, i’ve proven that. Perhaps even ineffective. But I have my moments and this is one. The real thrills throw your survival in doubt. I imagine skydiving. Or the first time on a roller coaster before you know that it’s possible to survive. History is just a story and I come to you with a clean heart and a hunger that almost tastes like youth. Smoking crack in the dark of night is one thing but the crack of dawn is a better high. Morning facing east. Tomorrow morning.
