but I think I agree with everything you have just said. I understand the significance of calling this a literary web-site and expecting people to follow certain guidelines but, come on, this site is open to the ENTIRE world. People from all over everywhere can set together in one “room” and discuss whatever they feel is important. what is literary to one person might not be literary to someone else. what is racist or offensive to one person might not be racist or offensive to someone else.

Example: In many posts I have seen the term “redneck” used in reference to people from the south. I am from the south. My whole family is from the smokey mountains in Georgia and Tennessee. Should I be offended when I see this word used? is is right to censor one kind of predjudice and not another?

I understand that this is a weak example (I call my brother a redneck all the time – but he is family) but i am making a point. What is bad for one person might not be bad for another. If you find something offensive, either discuss it in a calm and open manner with the individual or move on to next post.

I realize that it is easy to log back on under another name so the delations are merley symbolic but I abhor censorship of anyone’s thoughts – agreeable or disagreeable. And, apparantly, once something is deleted it is gone for good. Some folks might lose soem good writing.

Anyway, as I said, i am relativly new here and I really do appreciate the site Levi has established – a very noble effort. It must be frustrating to see ones work slip from ones control but that is what happens when you give your creation to the world.
