yep, i agree with you regarding the o’brien adaptation… gilliam’s version of fear and loathing in las vegas almost followed the book word for word, but for some reason i still thought that it kind of sucked…

i’ve only seen the first part, but i think peter jackson’s lord of the rings trilogy is going to do tolkien’s book justice even though it isn’t entirely faithful to the story…

i can’t really think of too many off the top of my head – 99 times out of 100, i’ll favor the book over it’s filmed counterpart.
