Is capitalism such a bad thing? After all every body wants more money, isn’t capitalism simply a way of making more money for everyone. I think that there is more personal freedom in a free-market economy (think America, UK) than the communist system ( think China, human rights abuses). Not that I am totally uncritical of the States (I deeply diagree with this current war and US foreign policy, I think it would be better if the States was isolationist). I mean I understand where you are coming from, I am a left-wing hippy who used to think that all City of London types were right-wing bastards, but now I’ve mellowed and just think that capitalism is a wealth creation venture which just about anyone can participate in. I understand that you don’t want to see music or any art prostituted but maybe artists just want to get their music across to the general public and its not just a money making venture. There is that to consider as well. I still think that Bob Dylan has alot of integrity and has created an excellent, thought provoking challenging work over the decades and one advert doesn’t make alot of difference. Theres alot more to get upset about – civilian deaths for instance.
