i your prodigal son returns, been gone a while.

i was over at the bbc site as they have a poll to discover the uk’s best loved books, and a message board which started off as an interesting and busy place. then they put on a tv show listing the poll, which included some great works, while missing out more, but is dominated by children’s lit. and fantasy. the result being that if you want to discuss anything other than H.Potter, lord of the rings, his dark materials or terry pratchett you are a ‘pseud’ who just wants to seem clever. so i return back to litkicks where you can say that 100 years of solitude is probably better than charlie and the chocolate factory without fear of being branded a fascist.
