I mean, how do you ban words?? How is the ban enforced? Do the word gendarmes come and drag you outta your house at night if they suspect you've been uttering forbidden words? Will they exile and imprison the most heinous word criminals to French Guiana so they can be guillotined at dawn in some rat and mosquito infested prison?..Hmmmm, do I get a whiff of black market opportunity here? With words banned that means there will be a demand for the stuff. Face it, some people just gotta have contraband words. I can see it now! Slovenly glassy eyed Frenchmen and women huddled in darkened and dirty rooms(burning their francaise dictionaries in wastebaskets). Whisper slurring in dreamy tones, "Le Cheeseburger...Le email..." and other hideous verbal expressions! Maybe someone will want to join me in forming a syndicate to smuggle the precious but illegal words into France! Sort of a reverse of The French Connection. Do we have any litkickers in France that might wanna help in distribution?
