It’s wierd

(not your poem but that fact that) I found it incredibly difficult to read this poem and not have some reaction as to the ‘moral’ debate about abortion, so deeply inculcated in my psyche has society made the issue.

This is what I like about your poem. It’s raw and unblinking and reminds the reader that abortion is a personal thing, not an ‘issue.’ It’s about people, whereas one side or the other makes it about the act, or about free choice.

But see, already my critique starts to devolve in polemicism.

Why can’t a poem about abortion be a poem about abortion?

But I read your poem and realize it’s just that.
