when down and out in nyc, 1981, staying inflophouse on the Bowrey, the Providence HOTEL, taking drawing class at Art Students League, I drew a figure drawing in graphite on the toilet stall wall, graphite on latrine green….it emerged looking like a young Indian maiden, so I signed it “Pocahontis.” Later, i came back to the stall and saw that someone had changed the name to “Poca tits.”
