What makes a great writer and how does one quantify and qualify greatness. Is greatness judged on literary content and command of the language. Is greatness judged on the writers view of issues of the day. Or is greatness judged solely on numbers sold.

Most people who read books are idiots.

Have you seen those best sellers lists. It’s all bubble gum for the brain, read it and forget it, page after page of regurgitated hum drum drivel. Great writers very rarely make it onto best sellers lists and even fewer do so in their own life time.

So what makes a great writer and who decides who is great ?
