seems more than just an ‘idea’ (which must be taught)…. it is far more inherent in human nature, as history (and everyday observation) seems to bear out. But….. having said that, we are probably agreeing more than disagreeing here, since that inherent human greed of which I speak seems to be also at least partly responsible for overpopulation itself, or something which neither one of us has mentioned, overconsumption. Why do people want four kids? Why do people want to drive Lincoln Navigators around?…. well, it could be argued that it’s all a function of inherent greed…… people wanting more than their share…. an inevitable component group of any generation throughout history.
