Well, first of all, your old membernames are perfectly safe. We aren’t deleting or blocking anything at all. We are doing this on the honor system and we think this will work out just fine.

i just wanted to comment on this statement of yours, Levi.

when you deleted “bambam” (one of LR’s names he uses for whimsical purposes) for posting a few names on the nominations board, names he thought deserved to be represented in the book, you also deleted my screen name, “pebbles”, even though I didn’t post a thing under that name for over a year.

As a result of this, every thread (even though there weren’t very many), every post, all the history of whimsical interaction between cartoon characters, the sole purpose to write humor, are gone.

my member name, pebbles, was not “safe” and you did delete every post of mine under that name.

It’s OK to have policies but I really didn’t find it OK that you deleted my member name “pebbles” because I liked some of the humorous stuff I wrote under that name and there was no reason to delete the name. Plus, I wasn’t even informed that those posts were being deleted.

I’ll use “doreen peri” as my only screen name at your request. This is your site and you can run it any way you want and I respect the ideal of what you are trying to achieve, however, I think that writing under different names is an excellent tool for authors who have done this throughout history.

If we want to take on the personnas of Daphne Pickering and Les Roderick, we’ll still do it but I’ll post under “doreen peri” and make reference to the personnas in the title line.

Similarly, any character names we choose, such as bambam and pebbles, can be posted in a similar manner, can’t they?

Why did you delete the name “pebbles” and all of my posts under that name?

I’ll follow the new rule because I want to follow the rules of this site.

But I really would like to know why that name was deleted if you are saying “old membernames are perfectly safe. We aren’t deleting or blocking anything at all.”
