i don’t take things like theft of copyrighted material lightly and i don’t take it lightly when someone fluffs off and totally ignores it when people call to their attention that their post represents theft

this was NOT a little matter… sure, we can let it go at the request of Levi, since this is his site, but to me, whether or not Kahlil Gibran’s estate sues somebody for posting stolen copyrighted material on an internet bulletin board (which is, of course, preposterous)… is not the issue

the issue is that it shouldn’t be tolerated and shouldn’t be taken lightly when something like this happens

i’ve seen people called out on the carpet here for WAY less serious offenses…. for calling someone a name, for chrissake

i simply don’t understand why the litkicks staff didn’t step in when they saw plagiarized material being posted, whether maliscious or not….. to explain the seriousness of something like this

it’s very upsetting to me…. it says to me that in the long run, it doesn’t really matter

well, it DOES matter .. to me it matters

and obviously it matters to you…

(you’re a smart girl… did i ever tell you that?)

and though i have the utmost respect for Levi and staff, i simply don’t get the fact that UOS didn’t get told by one of them that this was inappropriate, unacceptable posting

i thought that was what a moderated bulletin board was about..
