Good question about drug use and artistic creation but a dificult one to answer. Obviously works like Kubla Khan depended directly upon the opium (laudnum) Coleridge was doing as did some of the work by WSB. Also, some of the pieces from One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest were writen while on LSD. Can’t imagine it myself. Probably Aldus Huxley has written some of the best work on this theme. Have you tried Doors of Perception and Heavern or Hell? Drugs, like most deep life experiences, are best understood from the other side. I mean after you’ve stopped using them or during a hiatus in their use. Other then this I have little to offer. Short of writing a massive piece which I have little inclination of doing.
