Started reading “Electric Kool Aid Acid Test” less than a week ago. IT’s very entertaining and fascinating. It really made mme want to read some of Kesey’s novels (and Wolfe’s too). I’ve only seen the movie for “One Flew over the Cookoo’s Nest”, but I didn’t know that Kesey wirte a lot of the novel on peyote and acid. For what I read about “Somtimes a Great Notion”, I’m sure I’ll be checking it out too sometime soon.
So far, I’ve gotten to the part where the seventeen year old playwrite and the other kid with the stuttering problem and skills in eletronics show up (I suck at remembering). I’m looking foward to reading about what happens when to Hells Angels show up.
By the way, I have an open question for everyone who’s read EKAAT before: Which character in EKAAT do you identify with the most?
Personally, I’s have to say Sandy, because his shifting between transcendental and nighmarish trips seems similar to mine. I can definetly relate to the whole “They’re all plotting something” bit (goddamn sun in Capricorn side of Aquarius cusp).
