Now please take this apart:

“you just want something to be completely overwhelming and interesting but no event is forthcoming, maybe syrup and waffles …” someone focused completely on physical, immediate sensation

“get to that place that has been calling from picture books for years past, even though you know once you arrive there you`ll be, same old you with only a detail`s differance, but go anyway ..” Picture books? This is, of course, dreams. Not that’s dreams are bad, but there’s an implication of unreality here, too. Then of course, once you GET there, nothing will be any different. That is rather pessimistic, don’t you think?

“you can`t loose if you go, if you stay you may regret that” sounds almost like a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” kind of statement. Not quite, but’s again there’s a quality of indifference here is that rather depressing.

“when the future takes celebrity status in your thinking and the present is lame duck second cousin only to look even further once the future arrives”

So, you go towards something, not really knowing that it’s what you want, because it’s only a dream. Then, when you get there, nothing has changed, but going is just a little bit better than staying in one place, so you go. Once you get there it doesn’t matter because you’re not really THERE, in the PRESENT, instead you are looking towards the future again, and you know that once you get to THAT future you’ll be looking towards another future because the present is never going to be enough for you.

Then, to summarise the last two lines, instead of looking within yourself for the answers, you are looking towards the stars, towards some mystical Southern Cross (more dreams) or other symbol, because that is the only way you can reassure yourself that all this is worth doing.

Sorry to be so brutal; I KNOW it is brutal, but it’s also the truth. This person is looking for the wrong things to give them happiness, and they are following the wrong indicators to get them there. You can ONLY find happiness in the present, if you find it at all. Even if what you are doing in the present is working towards a future goal, that is where the true meaning of the experience is. This post is about the futility of life and about the uncertainty of everything in it. I find it extremely sad, and even sadder that someone would place blind faith in a process because of signs, symbols, or dreams.

Again, this is just my opinion, but it IS based n the post itself. I did not misread it.
