i’m smiling to see how many people, ok really only two or three, put down fante on their lists.. i always thought he was very underrated…and my five 1. too loud a solitude by bohumil hrabal–c’mon someone else must have read this? to whoever mentioned kundera, he said hrabal was the greatest czech writer, if that’s any enticement–i swear you’d like it and it is soooo sad how unknown this little masterpiece is. 2. the art of eating by m.f.k. fisher 3.nausea by j.p. sartre 4. the little prince a.de st.xupery
5.sylvia beach and the lost generation by noel riley fitch and the autobiography of benvenuto cellini-which is really really funny and howl and other poems by ginsberg and keep the aspidistra flying by g. orwll and the collected works of dylan thomas….and..and..and..
