Just read Macbeth, good Polanski film version, moving onto Catch 22 now. Got shed-loads that I am required to read to teach, but still squeezing in my own choices too.
Anyone seen/read the amazing film/story of the polish pianist in WW2? That is without a doubt the best war film I’ve ever seen. Polanski really got the atmosphere of those places across in the cinema. Warsaw & Krakow feel the same as they were depicted in the film. No sentimentality, just reality in Polanki’s film, which as we all know, is far more emotive. Go see it! Brilliant!
