that’s what differentiation between English Mechanichs and Literature is for. You see, there is quite a different problem with the “English language and literature” education. In school, we focus on literature very deeply and totally ignore the importance of English grammar. It’s just so sad when a twelfth-grader discussing some complex literature cannot distinguish between a verb and a noun.
By the way, derivatives and integrals ARE the interesting math. It is derivatives and integrals, analysis of which opens up the beginning of the abyss of mathematical analysis. Unfortunately, one cannot even think about studying calculus without understanding algebra and trigonometry. But even the latter can be studied in a more interesting way than simply memorizing tables, etc.
