What is your favorite, among his songs? He’s come so far since he wrote (as a young man) about a camp bed and things that rhyme with bed. “Closin’ Time” may be most appropriate to my life right now, with long-time marriage disintegrating, but the metaphor of the fire caressing and devouring Joan of Arc sticks with me more strongly. Your thoughts? [As to books, I’m listening to Isabel Allende in the car, Jill Ker Conway in the house, and anything that has to do with my dissertation. . .also trying to keep up with editorials in Newsweek. George Will’s “Restoration at 346 Madison” (re: Brooks Brothers) was a hoot.]
