Not so sure about that, though he definitely is a public intellectual, and his left-leaning but liberal politics takes an occasinal stance that might seem sympathetic to populism like being against “bosses”, “authority”, “oligarchy”.

but i think he might view “the people’s philosopher” label as smacking of sketchy versions of marxism. he definitely digs labeling himself a pragmatist, tho.
