having never read kashner’s book i can’t say that it’s a bogus pile of shit… who the hell is sam kashner? maybe he’s a nice guy… maybe he doesn’t see dollar signs…

i have a friend who taught at naropa… she’s met ginsberg, etc…. she’s had an 8 hour conversation with philip lamantia… but she doesn’t make exaggerated claims like some folks who write these memoirs do, she doesn’t embellish, she doesn’t tell a story that is partially fiction and partially fact to make money…

all i am pointing out is that there seems to be a cashing in on the beat phenomena because there is such a following… look at all of the kerouac-addicted people floating around… look at all of those whom are obsessed with ginsberg… look at all of those burroughs wanna-be’s…

did burroughs not cash in on the nike commercial just because he was william s. burroughs?
