As others but none the less the question is interesting for me. I for the most part dont read too too much of todays literature , i dont know why really , maybe I just take to the dead ones. But i guess i could say how the beat writers and lifestyle influenced me, i guess thats good as anything. But I first started to read Kerouac around fourteen , probably the common age to start reading Kerouac i wonder when the most prominent age finds the beat writers in America , thats an interesting question to look into.
But when i read Kerouac i started to find the curbside a bit more, speak in tongues , the beat writers made me throw some rocks so to speak. A strange way of looking at it but i said it wouldn’t be so clean. Then i started to dig Gary Snyder and the journey of Satori. You could follow the writers and characters as your own , following them off the ships back into New York.
Now that I’m stuck in a retrograde of similar days, being stuck in such a horrible anger of necessity i look again to being ” Beat,”
I look to sleep under the stars and never leave a place that is comfortable.
