Ferlinghetti can be a beat poet without considering himself one. like Foucault who is a postmodernist even though he rejects the title.

actually, i think that the person who wrote that Ferlingehtti and Snyder get more props from the academy may be correct as far as Snyder goes; but i think Ginsberg is as well represented asF and probably much more so, in the academy. that said, who cares what academics think. the bEATS didnt.
