I missed the PBS special on Emily Dickinson. Hopefully they will show it again.
But last night on PBS they had an outstanding documentary on Charles Dickens. I already liked Dickens but now I like him even more! Fascinating man. Did you know he was a phenomenal actor as well as writer?
As an aside note: I am struck by the similarity between some of Dicken’s work and some scenes in the movie Bride of Frankenstein (1935). This wasn’t mentioned in the special; it’s something I noticed. Macabre graves & churchyards…I don’t have time to go into it now.
Strangley, Dickens died on my birthday, June 9th. But not the same year.
