Agnostic Front!!….wow, I haven’t that name in a bunch of years. I saw them in about 1983 in California, along with just about every other hardcore band of the time. They were very good, very intense, as I recall. Julian Huxley, friend of Darwin’s, philosopher, something of social butterfly circa 1860’s, coined the term “agnostic” to describe his belief system. It is the claim that certain realms are unkowable, including whether or not there ever was a mindful “creator”, etc. To be agnostic is to claim that you don’t know if there’s a god or gods, nor is it possible, at this time, to know. That’s it. Atheism is the claim that there is not a god–that’s something I can’t claim to know, even though I doubt there is one.
