I’ve never tried to write a play, but when I was younger, I imagined all these famous Broadway plays as being enormous constructs of epic proportion, but when I got older and saw some plays, like The Elephant Man, The Glass Menagerie, Deathtrap, The Sound of Music, etc. I found that they were simple and uncluttered and easy to digest. That’s not meant in a negative way, it’s just that I thought, “Oh, alright. Simple is good.”
Maybe I’m setting my goals too high for myself in terms of wowing my readers. That sounds like good news to me!
