The Other Night

The other night

the cursed pillars of bland authoritarian excrement
saw me
gave a wry, callous grin to one another
silly boy, they said

so in a spree of strangely righteous indignation

i took a dangerous combination of drugs
and climbed on top of a building
where I stood perched precariously

not depressed
not happy

my soul wept
crushed by the burden of a thousand generations
i rolled around
i nearly fell off

then a strange calmness came over me
never before had I been so!
guided by something powerful

I made my way safely back down to the regular nightmare of life

I thought maybe it was god

then I thought

maybe it was myself.
