Not knowing if there is a tommorow (please critique

Posted to Poetry

Prayers were whispered, songs were voiced,
Stories were gratefully told.
There was a moment of silence,
To commemorate those soldiers grown old.

Bombs were dropped, guns discharged,
Thousands of lives perished.
Families lost their loved ones,
Those lives they dearly cherished.

Men and women endured,
Their heroic efforts perceived.
Now they stand here as veterans,
With their newfound glory achieved.

As the audacious rest in peace,
In their unruffled graves.
They will forever be remembered.
For being so brawny and brave.

Each day a reflection of thankfulness,
Without a minute for sorrow.
For men and women risked their lives,
Not knowing if there's a tomorrow.
