for now.....

Posted to Poetry

i'd like to break up your day
and rearrange it,
bring dawn on the
horizon of a mist,
kissed subtle
by a noon
lunch,

eaten
tasted
one bite
at a time,

while we
blend in our harmony,
wrapped up in the love
of being rhymed
into each other's
stanzas,
making
sense
come
closer.

come closer!

let us begin.
i'll dream in your ear,
breathing in
the scent
of clear
beauty,

two
becoming,

held
whole,
i'll smile
your soul
like amber
warm, our link
forever born!

and here
i write my yearn in ink,
my pen dipped swift
into my spirit,
gripped tight
by my own lyric

hearing my small
insignficant
words slip soft
out of my lips
before
i even think them,
drinking in the treat
of our autumn afternoon
until the dusk arrives,
splendid, the night,
drawing light breaths
from halos 'round
the harvest moon,
full, the circumference
embracing,
and me,
the husk
holding tight
your seed,
and we, alive
alive!

but who knows if or when
it will be that way again,
ever never or soon
or what directions
we are facing?
who knows
which way snow drifts
will shift
by wind storms
not in our control,
erasing roads
while waiting
for the thickness
of the grey shade,
the blanketing
of fog
lifting?

who knows the routes,
and journey's end
of two souls
bestowed with
the yes of then,
caught now
in a magnet
of when,
while days are
broken up
by static,
planes grounded,
as the echoing
of heartbeats
resound in the
silencing of
desire?

and so i light the
candlewick,
the fire
refracting,
bending light,
reflection of
the spark and glint
of love's survival.

ah yes! one day
perhaps, a brush
of hands,
revival of
a touch
of eyes,
as sands,
one by one
realize
the filling of
the hourglass
times the halo
'round the harvest
moon!

soon i'll sleep.
for now, i watch the
waxing minutes melt,
immersed in you,
rememb'ring how
we felt
submersed
in an illumined sky,
forming constellations
with the hem of my gown
and the edge of your
trouser cuff.

for now,
this is enough.
