Apparitions of White

Apparitions of white-
Shadows play swiftly across my face,
Veiling the implication of an eye.
The contrasts of contortions seem to me
Peripheral visions of myself.
All the colors fade away
Leaving blacks and whites
To a still-life brawl,
As I watch my own shadow move toward the door.
This girl of mysterious blackness
Loitering listlessly
Along the walkway of the ceiling.
Thinking myself a medium of spirits,
I see her disappear at the corner,
And return again
On the opposite wall
