First off, there's a really cool tango scene in "Moulin Rouge." But, what I was actually posting about: there's an anthropology professor at my university who studies the tango. She wrote a book recently, and I read an interview with her in which she said she thought of the tango as choreographed sadness. She went to the barrios of Argentina for months, dancing every night to study.
