Two Rivers

Posted to Action Poetry

Midday shivers without wind,
passing cars stare and shout
"HEY LOOK" &
"HA";
diversity in the midst of clones,
the machine on prowl
akin to the blue and white cars--
flashing sirens
pull you over,
ask you questions.

I know I know
cast out....
emotions spewing over,
boiling water on gas stove
sizzles
burns
evaporates

seconds tic-tock by
in some mocking hand movement,
clockstaring
eyeblinks bring insanity
disparity

walking, briskly, to the crossroads--
a simple fork
a hard decision,
feet planted--
rooted deep, flinching, afraid
afraid at the shore two rivers share,
hit by one
and erroded by the other--
