you crochet words around me
wrapping me in the beauty of
what you say you feel
and i pull on the fibers
of your sentiment
wanting some warmth
but this mind of mine
is heavy with doubt
say it again and again
and i’ll smile again and again
but there will always be that
piece of me that won’t
believe you
can’t believe you
because these little
wonderful words you say
that crash into my glass walls
and crack my safety
bit by bit
don’t belong to me
not at all
