I think it's his best too besides vision of cody. maybe because it was the most internal and maybe because it's the saddest. By the time he's in France, he's a goner and he knows it too. But with Big sur- there's a turning point there-and to hear him-read him whatever he fights it in big sur and its the most humanly human heartbreak, even from a somewhat historical perspective, to watch someon's inevitable decay. And that's agood question. Was his demise inevitable? Tell me, i don't know but thinkyeah.
