Moncton Mantra/Door Wide Open

Posted to What Are You Reading?

Last night I started Doors Wide Open which I assume everyone knows is the collected letters of Jack Kerouac and Joyce (Glassman) Johnson. It seems interesting so far. I assume some of you have read it so I'd be interested to hear what you thought.

Also, today a coworker loaned my a book called Moncton Mantra (Moncton as in New Brunswick) by Gerard LeBlanc. It's a beat inspired account of the authors experiences (excess) while attending the University of Moncton during the early 70's. Here's the kicker though...its French! I've been teaching a few French courses (high school) over the past few years but this is the first French novel that I've attempted since high school. I'm only about 25 pages in and understanding about 75% of it. Looks like it's going to be pretty cool though. Wish me luck.
