Imagine wide open trust broken eyes
weeping hot questions and wanton denial
Imagine the shame blade slicing from your sternum
to your navel, answers hanging like flesh ribbons
Imagine your reflection retching at the sight of you,
the rememberance of your last self lie now unhidden
Imagine watching disdain and disgust wash over your love’s face,
like chocolate icecream being smeared on an innocent child’s chin
Imagine the itchy self loathing climb from genitals to crown,
and scurry like a thousand locusts trapped between shirt and skin
imagine the word trust turning into
