The greatest poem of all time

Posted to Poetry

The greatest poem hides in a drawer,
unable to show its face.
The expectations, raised by brilliant scholars
will crash with its discovery
so-called masterpieces are doomed

The author, an unknown person,
threw army's of great sentences
into the nuclear smoke
and moulded a spy,
investigating every thought

Fruitfull memories and childhood pleasures
were sucked out of men,
An infinity of feelings.

When inked onto the page,
three stanzas of highest power
shivers went through the paper,
for it contained the soul of a planet.

There it lies,
it can't be read,
but has to be heard.
The lines whisper their beauty
into unaffected ears
Lovely rhymes insert
what was already there.
