dear friend can i ask you a question
you can help me learn this lesson
when do people decide to be real with you?
is it when you kneel down and lick their shoe?
or possibly is it when you give them money and possessions
and don’t ask them so many questions?
should i just let them be and not worry about them forming a friendship with me?
i think it would be interesting and the talks would be great
but why on the back of their voice is this hate
and this feeling that even though there’s genuine interest in a talk
you all can’t just ease up.
but either way i’m as real as i can be,
and i don’t need a friend that’s not as real as me.
