on easter sunday

Posted to Action Poetry

on easter sunday my sister
& i would dress up in new clothes
i would wear a red plaid jacket,
bowtie, shined shoes, her in a
new dress & my father would
position us in front of the
fireplace, just like the year
before & the year before
that & he'd pull out his
old 35mm & focus-twist-
focus, ask us to smile with
white teeth beaming &
my mother looking on &
we'd stare into the tunnel
of that camera lens like
geeky children of lost years
& search with wide-open eyes
for signs of a rising christ
