I never know what to do when accepted spellings evolve. Being naturally "retro" in my interests, I tend to go for the oldest possible spelling, not the newest, so I stick with Fyodor Dostoevsky.

I do remember learning once that Fyodor is the Russian equivalent of Theodore. Ted Dostoevsky ... pretty funny.
