As I float out of the building
The wind begins to beat against my skin
Tangling my hair and hiding my tear-stained face
I begin to walk
Away from the madness
Nothing in the world, but me,
the darkness, and the sound of my shoes on the asphalt
I have to escape
A single light burns at the back of the building
Illuminating my dark path
I am drawn to it
The light in the darkness
I search for answers here
Why? Why did she have to go?
Her bright future that lay ahead
Now buried with her six-feet below
I don't understand a life cut short
A future that never came
I will never understand
The pain life demands

Rest in Peace
