a hole in the strip mall

Posted to Action Poetry

there's a hole in the
sterile strip mall where
a store used to be, a
retail box that sold cheap
clothes at inflated prices,
flanked on either side
by a suntan ultraviolet
cancer joint & a radio
shack, electric hum
stereo television phone
buzz, vaulting energy
in all directions out
into the flowing red
hair of the universe,
a black hole where
nothing is sold, empty
as the cave from which
lazarus walked, throwing
his burial shroud off
like a bath towell, naked
in the glory of tomorrow
