I don't think this novel gets discussed much, so I was glad to see you mention it. It has a lot of the excesses of late period Vonnegut -- way too cutesy, etc. -- but it also has some fascinating concepts. I love the idea of curing loneliness worldwide by dividing everybody into these artifical "name families" (the idea being that you have to treat anybody with the same group-name nice). I've often wondered if this would work.
