Since You've Gone

Posted to Poetry

No one here watching over my shoulder
Counting the cigarettes I consume, or
Alcoholic beverages I consider

Scoldings are out of the question
It doesn't matter who I did, I'm leavin'...

Nope, since you've gone
I spend my time in wonder
If I ever cross your mind, but then I remember...

Hello loser girl, if he did he wouldn't hurt you
Wouldn't keep opening doors
Just to close them on you

He wouldn't leave you to face your fears alone
Wouldn't make you eat leftovers...
He'd place a ring on your hand, and you'd know,

He meant forever...
