I'm not dead you know I'm just old

Yes, yes
I used to play like that when I was your age,
Running around my grandmas house,
Shouting and laughing,
Quietly running up to her and poking her,
As she sat in her chair, my char, staring into space,

I'm not dead you know I'm just old.

Yes, yes
I used to act like that when I was your age,
Coming to visit my grandmas house,
Sit down and eat cake,
Quietly watching TV not taking to me,
As she sat in her chair, my chair, staring into space,

I'm not dead you know I'm just old.

Yes, yes
I used to cry like that when I was your age,
Coming to the wake in my grandmas house,
Look sombre, drink tea,
Quietly watching everybody as they all watch me,
As I sat in my grandmas chair, my chair, staring into space,

She wasn't dead I now know, she was just old.
